Brussels and the Textile Show

Time to get back to work!

Marla and I purchased gorgeous new silks, linens, and amazing faux-silks at the MOOD Textile Show in Brussels. Pramod Shah, across from Marla, is the same guy covered in mud from my previous “Sari Sensation” blog about India.

Luscious wide striped silk taffeta for our Spring 2010 line.

Sensational metallic embroidery on a silk shantung.

Lace embroidery on a rustic silk matka.

Velvet embroidery on silk.

The dining scene near the Grand Place is pretty crowded at times. The sign for one of my favorite restaurants, “Aux Armes de Bruxelles” is in the background. Many people dine in this area on mussels, frites & beer.

Brussels makes the very best chocolate in the world. Marla is “guarding” the entrance to Godiva Chocolates. It tastes so fresh here.

Our restaurant near the Place du Sablon was built in 1587!

I love antique French cycling posters!

Wonderful old buildings.

I may be an old dude, but I love music! My Jupiler beer was magnificent!

Marla toasts the band. Punk was definitely NOT dead tonight.

This window display shouts hip and cool.

I really had to laugh at this Brussels’ window display for Diesel Jeans.

My favorite Belgium chocolates: Wittamer, Godiva, Pierre Marcolini, & Neuhaus. “Hmmmmm!”

Looks like you had a GREAT time in Brussels! I haven't ever been but would like to go.
