I’m checking out the yachts at the Cannes Boat show.

Marla had a conference in Fort Lauderdale last week for the Women Presidents' Organization. I tagged along to work with our eastern Florida sales rep and visit customers. Fort Lauderdale is called the Venice of America and for good reason. The water taxi is the best way to get around while you pass by gorgeous palatial estates and amazing yachts. The Fort Lauderdale yacht show is the biggest in the world and showcases over 3 ½ billion dollars of fine water craft. I love yachts, but I get seasick! I can’t believe that I come from a line of seafarers on both sides of my family. Oh well, I guess I will have to be content to gawk at the mega yachts of the rich and famous from afar.

We passed by the incredible yacht, Kismet, on the way to dinner one evening. At 224 feet long it ranks only #67 on the list of the world’s largest private yachts, but it is a real beauty! It’s on the market for about $120,000,000. A real deal but I’m afraid it’s over my Visa card limit! It is available for charter of $800,000 a WEEK! That’s only $117,857 a day! If you are a super yacht voyeur like me, take a look at Kismet’s features.

Kismet looks incredible!

I wonder what it would be like to drive this baby?

Check out the circular glass elevator.

The interiors are quite striking!

The formal dining room is….formal.

I could learn to like this.

Staircase to the upper decks.

The elevator is stunning.

May I play a little Chopin for you?

Master bedroom.

I love the master bathroom!

You could almost perform surgery down in the engine room. It’s immaculate!

The “Eclipse.”

In case you wanted to see the world’s largest private yacht, check out the “Eclipse”, just launched for Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovich. It’s 557 feet long and is said to cost $400-800 million dollars! That tires me out even saying it!

A number of Wesco Fabrics customers do yacht interiors. I'd love to hear from you about designing boat interiors. Best yet, send pictures!
