Young Apprentice

Many years ago I learned to sew and make cornices in Wesco Fabrics’ Custom Drapery & Fancy Department Workroom. I felt that if I was going to understand the decorative textile and custom window covering business, I should know something about how things are made.  Marla toured our grandson in our Fancy Custom Workroom. He loved the sound of the sewing machines, wanted to get close to the action, and didn’t want to leave. This young apprentice may be a bit too young, but he definitely has the right DNA!

Joanne shows him the tacking & ring machine.

He loved watching Susie on her blind hemmer.

Diana shows the young man her fabrication table for shades.

We are very proud of our entire expert custom window covering artisans! Who knows, we may just have some young blood in the organization!
