The hunt for beautiful fabrics has begun! I am busy developing new collections for early 2013 release. We must continually energize our offerings by searching the world for decorative fabrics our designers and their customers will love! I was in
, over the weekend searching for new designs from mills, converters and importers. I saw really exciting designs that will eventually find their way in future Wesco Fabrics’ collections. High Point, North Carolina
I spent most of my time at
Market Square in . The historical building was once a factory for the Tomlinson Chair and is now repurposed into showrooms. High Point
Textile designer, Louise Robinson, presented her latest creations. She is very high on oranges and blues moving forward. I love her take on trends as she is constantly traveling the globe for inspiration.
Colorful and bright colors and designs were shown from a number of producers.
The trend forecast area displayed beautiful blues and teals, often mixed with grays and orange tones.
Russets and espresso tones are an important 2013 direction. “This pairing shakes up classic earthiness of espresso by introducing toasty brown tinged with red-orange.”
Chevron & ikat designs were shown in many sizes and will be very important. Large scale embroidered and jacquard woven motifs were quite stunning. Grays with black, blended with citron and yellow, continues to be important.
Wesco Fabrics has been a customer of this converter for over 40 years! I love their new embroideries!
***I travel to Heimtextil in
, next month. It is the world’s largest textile and window covering trade fair with over 2,650 exhibitors from 65 countries. I will definitely bring comfortable shoes! Stay tuned. Frankfurt, Germany
