Where do you want to travel

After watching the “Bucket List” I felt inspired to write down a few places I would like to visit.  To quote Bill Bryson, “To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted.” The temples of Myanmar’s Bagan and Mandalay beckon me.

Marla and I have traveled to Bali for pleasure and for buying products for Wesco Fabrics since 1995.  Lake Bratan’s beautiful Pura Ulun Danu water temple is new on my list.

I love cycling iconic mountain passes! Definitely on my list is Italy’s Passo Dello Stelvio, Europe’s second highest paved road with 48 numbered switchbacks on the 15.5 mile ascent. I would have to really get serious to tackle this monster!

I want to hike up to the Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) in Bhutan!

A wonderful splurge would be to stay at the luxurious Jade Mountain in St. Lucia.

Mallorca, the largest island in Spain’s Balearic Islands, is a destination that intrigues me.

I am long overdue for South American travel adventures.

A week just touring museums in Washington D.C. would be wonderful!

I am originally from California, but I have never visited the Sequoia National park! Their General Sherman tree is one of the tallest and oldest living organisms on the planet!

My great grandfather, Captain William Brown, was born in Scotland. I would like to visit my nephew in Edinburgh.

Though I am fortunate to have visited over 50 countries and islands, sometimes I forget just how beautiful my home state is! It’s time for a Colorado road trip!

What’s on your bucket list?
