Wesco Fabrics Shopping Adventure in Thailand

Dick and Marla Gentry, exotic furniture, Thailand
Marla and I found really exciting exotic furniture and accessories during our Thailand buying trip in March. We worked with our favorite artisan workshops and found some fabulous new suppliers. It is a great thrill to stumble upon furniture that our design customers will love. We filled a container with our treasures, and it should arrive in Denver at the end of June. Come along for a little tour of some of the fun things we bought.

Acacia Wood, Monkey Wood, Thailand
We worked with a favorite workshop that specializes in Acacia Wood, or as they call it, Monkey Wood.

Acacia wood, wood colsole
I had to buy this large Acacia wood console made from a single piece. The look works perfectly with today’s contemporary and transitional design.

lamps, furniture, Thailand, Wesco Fabrics
Marla finishes an order for lamps and furniture from a workshop specializing in modern designs.

wood console, Acacia wood
We loved this modern style console made from an Acacia wood slab and a steel base.

modern lamps, wood sculpture
This workshop creates modern lamps and sculptures from large pieces of interesting wood.

vine lamp, Thailand
A lamp made from vines.

modern metal, wall hanging, blue, pewter
Modern metal wall hangings really caught our eye. We bought them in blue and pewter.

natural material lamps
We stumbled upon a workshop specializing in very unusual lighting made from natural materials.

woven light fixture, Denver Design District
This one will look great in our Denver showroom!

Burma, Burmese lacquer, urns
Burma is known for intricate lacquerware.  I was super excited to find these large urns.

Buddha, Thailand, Wesco Fabrics
You know it’s right when it “talks to you!” We really liked this reclining Buddha.

Naba, Thai temple, Thailand
Marla and I both had to have this 200-year-old Naga from a very old Thai temple. We have a pair for sale. They look fabulous!

I hope you enjoyed our shopping tour.  I can’t wait for the containers to arrive as it feels almost like Christmas.
