Denver Art Museum, Cartier, jewelry

On November 16th the doors of the Denver Art Museum will open for a dazzling exhibit, “Brilliant: Cartier in the 20th Century.” Marla and I visited the San Francisco Legion of Honor’s 2010 Cartier exhibition and found it totally mesmerizing! Denver’s Cartier exhibit will be the only one of its kind in America and will be a definite must see for anyone interested in jewelry and decorative art. We can’t wait!

Cartier, Czars of Russia, Roaring 20

“The evolution of Cartier takes us on a journey through 20th century history, from the era of the last Czars in Russia to the Roaring ‘20s in America to the onset of Hollywood glamour as we know it.”

Cartier, necklace, Maharaja

The creativity of the Cartier brothers and their designers are on display with this necklace made for Sir Bhupindra Singh Maharaja of Patiala in 1928.

Denver Art Museum, emerald necklace

To promote the Cartier exhibit the Denver Art Museum created an ice sculpture in the shape of one of their most famous emerald necklaces. I am sure it melted some hearts as well!

If you are not a fan of fabulous jewelry creations, I would still recommend visiting the Denver Art Museum Hamilton wing as it is a definite architectural wonder!
