Miles of Aisles

Marla and I hit Frankfurt’s gigantic Heimtextil fabric show running! We had three days to navigate miles of aisles in our search for beautiful new fabrics for the Wesco Fabrics’ Fall collections.  On the first day we skipped breakfast and jumped on the underground “U Bahn” train to the Messe fairgrounds.  On our first appointment we ordered cappuccinos, a few sweet rolls and went to work.  We found some fabulous designs! Come along on our quest, and we’ll share a few patterns we purchased.

I fell in love with a soft velvet with embroidered medallions. A bit expensive, but had to have it!

The great thing about Marla is her focus. Where she goes others follow!

We worked on colorations and base cloths on a new coordinated print group. We settled on a linen/viscose blend.

We’ll have a beautiful group of handwoven cotton ikats!

This colorful jacquard woven masterpiece will be a huge hit next fall! Love the colors!

We went crazy for a group of silk blend prints in subtle shadings of luxury.

Loved this embroidered stripe. It is reminiscent of something you might have found in a Beverly Hills Spanish colonial home in the 1920’s.

By the end of day three I was wearing out from physical and visual overload! I was ready to call it a day when Marla said “Hurry! There is a trend seminar at 5 o’clock!” Check out the videos below for highlights of the trend seminar.

Heading back to our hotel one evening we found a square full of food and wine trucks. Locals and visitors alike enjoyed wines and foods of the region.
We felt very happy with our fabric sourcing! We can’t wait to share our treasures, but you’ll have to wait until next Fall for the launch.  We know you’ll love it!
