SAYING GOODBYE TO A FEW OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE

We all have our favorite performers who have personally inspired and entertained us over the years. We say goodbye to these iconic people who have passed away in 2016 and hope their special gifts will be remembered for years to come.  I'll share just a few who left us.
Marla first turned me on to David Bowie while watching very late night TV years ago, and I was blasted away with his talent in all his transformations. We were lucky to see him in concert! I love this early video of him in his "Ziggy Stardust" persona! Cool & glammed to the max!

We once scored tickets to see Prince up close in concert in the "Purple VIP" section. Amazing is just too small a word for his musical gifts! There are very few videos of Prince online but this 2004 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame tribute to George Harrison shows him at his fantastic guitar genius! His solo at the end of the video is beyond fabulous! HOW DOES ONE SPELL GENIUS? He really could "do it all!"

We were 3rd row center for a headlining act long forgotten, but the unknown opening act blew me away. It was the Eagles! Glenn Frey, their co-founder, was an incredible musical genius! This video shows what a fabulous talent he was!

We caught Leon Russell in a small club on Denver's East Colfax back in the day. I want his wonderful , "A Song For You", played at my funeral. Love this video of the song!

I really miss Gary Shandling, an actor and comedian who starred in the crazy and hilarious, "Larry Sanders Show." He took comedy to a place it had never been before. Take a look at this video (WARNING: A bit racy!) of his spoof talk show with Alec Baldwin as a guest.

Alan Rickman had "THE" voice which just resonated with you! He was an actor I particularly loved. This video is a nice tribute.

Gene Wilder!!! Loved everything he was in! A favorite moment of mine is this video of him in "Young Frankenstein."

...................................................................................................................................................................

We are HUGE "Fawlty Towers" fans and episodes with "Manuel" were priceless! Andrew Sachs who played him passed away this past week. Love this scene!

These are just a few of the many incredibly talented people we lost this year.  May their memories shine on  and on!
